In 1968, a group of engineers at Bedford Associates in Bedford, Massachusetts headed up by Richard Morley, developed a product that solved the inherent problems of Relay Control Panels.

Based on an initial design by Richard Morley which he had nurtured for years and finally put to paper early on New Years Day in 1968, the solution was a Controller that utilized Solid-State Circuitry and Relay Ladder Logic -- resulting in a system that could not only be installed in a fraction of time, but which could be modified through simple graphical programming instead of manually rewiring an entire Control Panel.

A Sequential Logic Solver that controlled Factory Automation and Continuous Processing, the "084" Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
