Littelfuse is the solar circuit protection market leader and and has expertise with over 14 million devices installed in PV systems. As PV systems have grown in size, so have the corresponding voltage requirements. This increase in system voltage has typically been intended to minimize power loss associated with long conductor runs. Standard circuit protection devices are not designed to completely protect photovoltaic panels. The SPFJ Series is the first fuse in the electrical industry UL 2579 Listed and designed to protect photovoltaic (PV) applications at 1000VDC and 70-450A. The SPFJ offers a unique solution to inverter- and re-combiner box manufacturers across the world, helping to further protect solar power systems and increase safety. It also offers a full-range PV time-current characteristic for added protection.  The SPF Solar Protection Fuse series has been specifically designed for the protection of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This family of Midget style fuses (10x38 mm) can safely protect PV (photovoltaic) modules and conductors from reverse overcurrent conditions.
